06/19/06 - Ocoee. Belle, a beagle owned by Kevin Weaver, 34, has been
credited with saving her owner's life by using his cellphone to call 911
while he lay unconscious in a diabetic seizure.
Belle underwent nine months of intensive training on using her
highly-developed sense of smell to alert her owner when his blood sugar
deviated too far from normal. She was also trained to chomp down on
the cellphone keypad in an emergency. The 9 key was programmed to
dial 911 automatically.
