03/11/07 - Every year Miami holds what is billed as the world's
biggest Carnaval party, Calle Ocho, named after the SW 8th street
area that is the home to Little Havana. This year the party started on
March 2nd and concluded with the Festival de la Ocho block party on
March 11th. Food, drink, and dancing for 24 blocks and 30 stages
should be enough to gladden the hearts of any reveler.
One of the singers on one of the stages, Ana Christina, a 19-year-old
Cuban-American, delivered a knockout performance with 12-member
band that included members of Miami Sound Machine and Latin
dancers.
