09/11/06 - It wasn't memories of jumpers in the World Trade Center's
twin towers that led Troy Stewart, 31, of Lantana to jump off a bridge over
the Intracoastal Waterway with his daughter Megan, 10.  It was to cure
her of her fear of heights.

A couple of problems:  Megan doesn't have a fear of heights.  And the
spot where Troy chose for the 15-foot jump has water only 18 inches
deep.

As you might expect, Troy broke his leg.  Megan was unhurt, and ran
home to tell her mom, who promptly called an ambulance.  No big deal,
since it's the third time Troy has broken his leg, the previous incidents
involving a motorcycle and a three-wheeler.

Police Captain Andy Rundle said "This is an example of what not to do
as a parent.  And let this be a lesson to everybody:  Somebody's tried it,
and it's not a good idea."
