08/17/07 - Police in Orlando held one of their periodic "Kicks for
Guns" sneaker exchanges this month, and they got a little more than
they expected. An unidentified man turned in what appeared to be a
surface-to-air missile launcher, which he exchanged for a pair of
Reebok sneakers, no questions asked.
The man said he found the weapon in a shed he tore down recently.
"I didn't know what to do with it, so I brought it here," he said.. "I took
it to three dumps to try to get rid of it and they told me to get lost."
The item was later identified as a carrying case for an anti-tank
weapon. No word on where it came from.
